Welded wire mesh Welded wire mesh is a grid of steel wires welded together at regular intervals and used to reinforce concrete. It helps distribute loads and limit the width of shrinkage cracks.

Welded wire mesh is supplied in sheets or rolls and is positioned within the concrete before placement. It provides more uniform reinforcement than individual loose wires and is commonly used where engineered plans call for crack control. Proper placement is important so the mesh remains at the intended depth within the slab.
