Rebar

Concrete & Paving Materials
Rebar Rebar, short for reinforcing bar, is steel reinforcement embedded within concrete to improve its ability to resist tension and control cracking. Concrete provides compressive strength, while rebar helps carry tensile forces.

Reinforcing steel is commonly placed according to engineered designs before concrete is poured. The bars become bonded to the hardened concrete, allowing both materials to work together under load. Rebar is widely used in structural concrete and selected pavement applications where additional reinforcement is required.
