Pop-out

Common Defects & Damage Types
Pop-out A pop-out is a small cone-shaped fragment of concrete that breaks away from the surface, leaving a shallow hole. It is often associated with expanding aggregate particles or trapped moisture.

Pop-outs generally occur as isolated defects rather than widespread deterioration. While they seldom affect the structural performance of the slab, they can expose the surface to additional moisture and weathering. Identifying the underlying cause helps prevent recurring damage.
