Pigmented (tinted) concrete

Concrete & Paving Materials
Pigmented (tinted) concrete Pigmented concrete is concrete colored by adding mineral-based pigments to the mix before placement. The color becomes part of the concrete instead of being applied only to the surface.

Pigmented concrete is often used where appearance is important, such as decorative sidewalks, plazas, or landscaping features. Because the color extends throughout the material, minor surface wear is generally less noticeable than with surface coatings. In NYC, color selection may also be influenced by local design standards or landmark requirements in certain locations.
