Concrete slump / slump test

Concrete & Paving Materials
Concrete slump / slump test A concrete slump test measures the consistency and workability of freshly mixed concrete before placement. The test indicates how easily the concrete can be placed and finished without measuring its strength directly.

During the test, fresh concrete is placed into a standard cone-shaped mold that is lifted vertically, allowing the concrete to settle. The amount it drops, or "slump," provides an indication of workability. A slump that is too high or too low may signal that the mix needs adjustment before placement, helping maintain consistent construction quality.
