Calcium chloride

Concrete & Paving Materials
Calcium chloride Calcium chloride is a chemical admixture sometimes used to speed the early setting and strength development of concrete. Its use depends on the project's specifications and reinforcement requirements.

Although calcium chloride can accelerate curing in cold conditions, it is generally avoided in reinforced concrete because it may contribute to corrosion of embedded steel. Alternative non-chloride accelerators are often selected where reinforcement is present. Contractors should always follow the approved mix design for the specific application.
