Granite's high density makes it well suited for areas exposed to heavy traffic and harsh outdoor conditions. Many older NYC streets and public spaces still feature granite curbs and paving installed decades ago. Because of its durability, granite often lasts much longer than many manufactured paving materials with proper maintenance.
