Contractors may reset a curb if it has shifted, settled, or moved out of alignment but is still in good condition. Resetting restores the proper elevation and position while preserving the existing curb material. In NYC, this approach is commonly used during roadway or sidewalk reconstruction when it satisfies project specifications.
