Concrete resurfacing

Repair, Replacement & Construction Methods
Concrete resurfacing The process of applying a thin, polymer-modified concrete overlay or coating over an existing concrete slab to restore its visual appearance.

Resurfacing is often used on private patios or indoor concrete floors, but it is highly discouraged and generally unapproved for NYC public sidewalks. The thin overlay easily delaminates (peels off) under heavy pedestrian traffic and sub-zero winter temperatures. If your public sidewalk has surface scaling or spalling, the DOT requires a complete flag replacement to meet safety regulations.
